| Get tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms – mobile COVID-19 testing unit details for this week |
| A mobile COVID-19 testing unit will be returning to the borough over the next week. It will be at Barnet House on Wednesday (16 September), and Brent Cross Shopping Centre on Saturday (19 September). The unit will be open for tests for attendees in a vehicle and on foot, at each location, from 10.30am to 3.30pm. ALL appointments must be pre-booked. Staff who just turn up will not be able to have a test.A place can be booked at the Barnet site or any other location near you, via the national booking site at: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test.
It is especially important, as case numbers have recently risen in the borough and at a time where more people across the country may be considering a return to work, that if you or any of your family members or friends exhibit symptoms of the virus, that you apply to take a test as soon as possible. We all need to remember to stay alert to control the virus and save lives. We have also now published a webpage with upcoming dates of where the mobile testing unit will be in Barnet. The page has all the information you need to know, and can be found here. Testing is now available for anyone with symptoms (read more here). However, guidelines for testing specify that individuals should be tested within the first five days of showing symptoms as this is when it will be most effective. It is therefore vital that if you have symptoms that you apply to take a test as soon as possible. NOTE AS OF MONDAY 14 SEPTEMBER: We are aware of the issues being faced nationally with the NHS Test and Trace booking system. Tests do become available throughout the day, so if you have COVID-19 symptoms please check back again if you are initially unable to book a test. If you or any of your staff members do have a test, please also remember to inform the BECC team of the results, by emailing covid19@barnet.gov.uk. Any questions about the process or the mobile unit should also be directed to covid19@barnet.gov.uk. Please keep checking www.barnet.gov.uk/mobiletesting for more information on testing and locations.
