M&M Productions visited Woodcroft on the 2nd March and took us on a journey down the yellow brick road to meet the Wizard of Oz.
The story began on a farm in Kansas
Dorothy was afraid that Toto was going to be taken away.
The storm carried her to Oz
She was told that only the great Wizard of Oz could help her.
The good witch warned her to be careful of the Wicked Witch of the West
She met a scarecrow along the way who thought he didn’t have a brain.
Then a tin man who didn’t have heart
They travelled around in circles getting lost
Then they met a lion who believed he no courage.
Together they went to the Emerald City.
The wizard’s helper wasn’t very helpful.
He told them that the wizard would only help if they brought him the witch’s broom.
The witch lived in a castle.
She captured Dorothy with her flying monkeys.
Dorothy was helped to escape by her friends.
They threw water on the witch and she melted.
They returned to Emerald City.
The Wizard showed the lion that he already had courage.
And said that the tin man was loved by others so he already had a heart.
He reminded that scarecrow about the clever things he had done so he must have brain.
Then the fairy helped Dorothy return to Kansas – but had it all been a dream?
After the show Year 6 were invited to a stage craft workshop.
They me the cast…
And practised their acting.
Do they look like wicked witches?
