As well as providing a fantastic opportunity to build and design robots using Lego Mindstorms and WeDo, Robo Club develops critical thinking, logical reasoning and problem solving abilities in Woodcroft pupils. Through open-ended activities, pupils are encouraged to find their own solutions to problems using the programming skills they acquire in the club.
Gifted and Talented Robo Clubbers can:
- Design, write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals.
- Solve problems by decomposing them into smaller parts.
- Use sequence, selection, and repetition in programs.
- Work with variables and various forms of input and output.
The sense of accomplishment that club members feel when they achieve their goals is what makes them love to be in Robo Club. Look at these pictures to see how determined to succeed Robo Clubbers are.
