Over the next week we will be celebrating Woodcroft’s wonderful musicians with three concerts at the school. On Thursday 24th November our strings musicians perform to family and friends. Then on Friday we will enjoy a concert by our woodwind, brass and guitar players. Finally, on Monday, Year 3 take to the stage with their ukuleles.
Strings Concert
On Thursday 24th November our strings players put on a wonderful show for family and friends. Some of our musicians only began learning their instruments in September, but they put on a flawless performance after only 10 lessons. Well done also to our new Senior String Ensemble who practice with Miss Blyth before school three mornings per week. It was a very confident and accomplished concert. Thank you and well done to Miss Sherring, Miss Blyth, Mrs McLean and Mrs Hooker for their continued commitment to music and Woodcroft.
Woodwind Brass and Guitar Concert
On Friday 25th November we were treated to a concert by our woodwind, brass and guitar players. The pupils demonstrated real progress and commitment to learning and performing with their instrument. Thank you to Miss Sherring for supporting the woodwind group, Mrs Reeder who leads on brass and to Mr Huckerby who runs guitar club.
Year 3 Ukulele
Every pupil at Woodcroft learns a tuned instrument in Year 3. We have been running whole class ukulele for the past four years and each term the pupils put on a performance for their families. This year’s ukulele concert on Monday 28th November did not disappoint. After only nine lessons the pupils performed a repertoire of six songs with confidence and enthusiasm. Well done the entire year group and to their tutors, Mr Hughes and Ms Cingo.
