We invited last year’s Year 6 (now in Year 7) to a special Bronze Arts Award Presentation Evening in the Main Hall on Wednesday 6th July.

Our ex-pupils collected their prestigious Bronze Arts Award certificates from Trinity College London and had an opportunity to say hello to their past teachers and see old friends. We even had a surprise visitor! Miss Sherring, back from Hong Kong where she currently teaches, popped along to present their certificates. We did put her back to work as well, helping pack away and tidy up 😉

The Woodcroft Dance Team

This week our fantastic Woodcroft Dance Team took part in the national finals of the Great Big Dance Off, the primary dance championships. After winning the regional event earlier in the year we travelled to Cheltenham on Monday to compete against schools from across the country.

Parents of the dancers are now invited to a final performance at a special ‘Festival of Dance’ assembly on 13th July at 2.45pm in the main hall.

Woodcroft has been named as a Trinity Champion Centre 2022/23 for our successful delivery of the Arts Award, a Trinity qualification supporting music, art and drama in association with Arts Council England.

Trinity College London is a leading international exam board and independent education charity that specialises in the assessment of communicative and performance skills covering music, drama, combined arts and English language.

Trinity Champion Centres inspire other organisations by sharing their practice and advocating for accreditation in their communities.

We made a BIG announcement in Woodcroft Weekly Issue 454 today! We have been recognised as Champion Centre for the Arts by the prestigious Trinity College London.

Red, White and Blue Day Jubilee Celebrations

To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee we held a number of events in school on Friday 27 May. It was a red,white and blue party day! Pupils dressed up, enjoyed class parties, took part in jubilee activities and had a special tea party at lunchtime! Everyone then got to take home a commemorative golden coin in a presentation case as a memento to treasure on this historic occasion.

In issue 452 we celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, learn about our football team’s recent success, and think about online safety. We also talk about the importance reading aloud at home. All of this, and much more, in your half-term edition of the Woodcroft Weekly News.
