All set to start on the 29th February
Lots will be happening at Woodcroft during Literacy Festival Week! Highlights include…
M&M Theatre production of ‘The Railway Children‘
Key Stages 1 and 2 get ‘all aboard’ with characters Peter, Phyllis and Roberta as they face many challenges when their whole world changes around them!
We will find out how a brother and two sisters save a train after a terrible landside, see how they nurse their mother back to health, how they save their father from a terrible trap and how these three small children touch the hearts of all those around them. We have got our ticket to Oakworth Station to meet the lovely Mr Perks who will guide us through this heart-warming story of the Brentworth family to find out how the Railway Children get their name in this magical tale.
Foundation Stage at The Unicorn Theatre
To see Jeramee, Hartleby and Ooglemore
Nursery and Reception join Jeramee, Hartleby and Oooglemore at the seaside where things start to happen!
Hartleby spends a lot of time being bossy and trying to find the perfect spot. Oooglemore does some crazy dancing and shows off a bit. Hartleby goes off in a huff, but Jeramee makes it all OK. We will revel in delightful innocence and glorious silliness of this fantastic new production.
World Book Day 2016 – Thursday 3rd march
World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world. Every child will be getting a Book Voucher to put towards their favourite book, or to buy one of this year’s specially prepared books. Find out more at http://worldbookday.com/
Competition Time
Pupils will be taking part in a special ‘literacy’ competition with some fantastic prizes – more news to follow!
